Stay-At-Home Update: March 3, 2013

March Front

Hey friends! It’s been a while since we just… talked! We’ve made a few updates on the site in the past weeks, and work needed an extra day out of me today, so instead of writing a subpar article, we have decided to give you guys an update on where we are and where we’re going! So pull up a chair, order a cup of coffee, and lets catch up!

Yeah, we thought it sounded like a cop out too, but we seriously care about the articles being good quality, and not having the time to do so makes that hard… on with the Update!

As you’ve noticed on our new layout in editorial articles and at the top of every page, we have a cute new mascot, Little Guin! If you know RedGuinness, you surely recognized Guin is his sprite version! We even added a few pixels on the sides for increased authenticiy! Until we gain more writers, he’s gonna be the only one we have, but until then, he’s kinda cute, wouldn’t you say? Voting has closed on The XCOM Diaries: Part Two, and Part Three is coming soon! We only had one vote, but it’s the only one we’re counting! It seems Smither is going to have another hard entry, even harder with armor the enemy can see across a map!

Smither’s Next Challenge

As for the future, we started to consider making our Dishonored playthrough more of a play-by-play style, first person narrative, but decided against it after reading Kimberly Scott of‘s series titled Mass Effect: I’m The Last One To The Party (An amazing read, by the way. Click the link and enjoy the playthrough). We love the idea, but we won’t use someone else’s great ideas without permission…and if it were to be granted, it would be appreciated! (See what we did there? Subtle, ain’t it?)

We’re also working out the kinks for our new Submissions page! We’ve seen some great feedback since we began the site, but we weren’t meant to be one voice forever. We’ll be beginning by just accepting guest submissions, but who knows? Maybe YOU could be a staff writer someday on Stay-At-Home Gaming! Assuming you like to work long hours for no pay, a nonexistent benefits package and a discount package recently described by friends as “Quite Poor,” you could be read and appreciated by dozens of couples of readers every month, mostly made up of family members and Facebook friends of mine (and yours too)!

Heh heh, Submissions Page…

Anyway, it’s been fun catching up with you, and hope we can do this again some time. Oh, by the way, thanks for paying for the coffee! *runs away*

What do you think of where we’re going? Have any suggestions for what you’d like to see? Drop a comment to let us know!

Permission granted! I would love to be able to look forward to reading that thread. Thanks for the blove. (Blog love? Is that a thing? Now it is.)

And it looks like the “Burny Burny, Cut Cut” playthrough will commence tomorrow! Much appreciated! Would do it for the stealth playthrough, but there’s only so many ways to describe choking someone out and hiding them from carnivorous rats…

Got an opinion? Let it be heard!
