Video Game News, Reviews and Reflection! New Articles Released Randomly Every Week!

Week in Review: 2/15/14

Welcome to a wonderful post-Valentine’s Day Week in Review!

Whether you went to dinner or cuddled with an old favorite, we hope your day went well! Spending mine in Queens, many miles away from my girlfriend of five years that day in Potsdam, I pretty much played Dragon Age II and ate snack foods! A day well spent. There were also a bunch of great reads around the web, and you should read them too!

Single Gamer Have More Money!

Gamer

Some of you may not have had a date on Valentine’s Day, but so what? There are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself without having to spend gratuitous amounts of cash and time on someone else! (That one will cost me in June when the lady comes home…) Check out the argument on Super GG Bros!

Remake Reexamined

UntedWeGame

Since the dawn of HD, many classic games have been remade to take full advantage of prettier graphics without destroying the classic gameplay we loved. I personally own the remakes of Beyond Good and Evil, Silent Hill 2 & 3 and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and nothing has been lost. But is that necessarily a good thing? Cary of United We Game has some thoughts about that one!

Minecraft Excellence

Rhio

Rhiosace was one of the first followers my blog had, and her Mass Effect articles are some of my favorites. She has started a Youtube channel, the first video of which is a fantastic Xbox 360 Roller Coaster featuring some brilliant recreations of locations from the Walking Dead television series. Plus, anyone who appreciates their readers enough to thank them in a post gets my readership.

Game Openers

Game Music

As I’ve said before, music and sound are the most underated and underappreciated aspects of a video game (stupid graphics taking the glory…). That’s one of the reasons I love The Credible Hulk so much. He gets it. I also seem to share his musical appreciations, though maybe not the same genre preferences. This article for Top Five Game Opening Songs is right on the mark.

So ends another Week in Review. We’re looking for something to call all of you wonderful readers (Nerd 3 uses Procrastinators, Lady Gaga uses Monsters, we ain’t got $#@&) and we figured you guys should choose it! Drop you suggestions in the comments below and we’ll pick the best one for a trial run!
