Week in Review: 5/10/14

Welcome to a late Week in Review!

This week we had two articles on Achievements and Trophies that ended up serving as the basis for a new category we will begin soon, working title Still Debating. Check back soon for it.

As for last week, here’s some of our favorites!

Iconic Music

When you think of the most recognizable music in gaming, your first though should probably be the Super Mario Bros theme. This melody has been around since the beginning and has had multiple interpretations across the many Mario games and the fans who love it. Bryan Macias of BryandLife takes us back with this tribute to the music.

Like many of you, I saw the new Amazing Spider-Man movie the first weekend it came out. I liked it, but nowhere near as much as I hoped. Something just seemed off about the whole thing, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Megan_Highwind is smarter than I am and nailed it in her review for the movie on Disk Read Error. Whether you’ve seen the film or not, read this review.

Lightning Didn’t Strike Gold

Having played Final Fantasy XIII and being underwhelmed, it took a sale and some great boredom to pick up the sequel. Which was a mistake. But after reading this review for Lightning Returns, I won’t be making a sequel mistake twice. spatrick1346 begins with the caption “My husband doesn’t know this but I’m trading this into GameStop as soon as I get a chance,” and that was the nice part. Save yourselves by reading why.

If you owned (or still play) Xbox 360, every single one of these games should be in your library. The Credible Hulk tells you why. Just go and agree. And if you don’t, tell us what should have been there!

Thanks for the plug, I appreciate it! I also wasn’t amazed by Amazing Spiderman 2 either. ;(
