Titanfall to Get Four-Player Co-Op Mode

You read that right. Four-Player Co-Op for Titanfall.

The successful multiplayer-only game Titanfall by Respawn Entertainment has received almost universal praise, and if there was one category that disappointed players it was the lack of a conventional singleplayer mode. It seems that Respawn, made up of members of Infinity Ward who left the team with Jason West and Vince Zampella, has heard those people and, while not delivering what was asked, seem to have compromised.

Frontier Defense, a new game mode to be relased with the upcoming Update 8, is a four-player game mode similar to Gears of War’s Hoard Mode and Call of Duty’s Zombie Maps. You and your team are tasked with defending a lone Harvester against waves of Grunts and Spectres. While this may not sound too scary to veterans of the game, Respawn has promised a more sophisticated AI to accompany the update, adding increased capability to the cannon fodder enemies, as well as new types of Titans to fight against.

Probably the best news of all is you shouldn’t have to wait too long: the update is set to come out today (pending any issues), while two other game modes, Deadly Ground and Marked for Death Pro, will release on November 5th and 26th, respectively.

Get ready for a new level of competition.
