Video Game News, Reviews and Reflection! New Articles Released Randomly Every Week!
Looks like the result of fan backlash is a free game!
Assassin’s Creed Unity seems to be getting a bad reputation, and Ubisoft has taken incredible notice. As of a press release from the company, issued on November 26, the Season Pass for this year’s release of the long-running action game has officially been cancelled. Mentioning bugs and other technical issues, Yannis Mallat, CEO of Ubisoft Montreal & Toronto, announced that “to show appreciation” for its customers, the upcoming DLC, Dead Kings, would be free to download.
In addition, anyone who had purchased the Season Pass, which is no longer offered online or in stores, would be able to receive a free Ubisoft game like Far Cry 4, The Crew or Just Dance 2015.
Responses like this are uncommonly generous, even as more and more games coming out this season are reaching consumers unplayable, inaccessible or buggy.
All future DLC for Unity has been cancelled along with the Season Pass, though the company has expressed its commitment to making the game at least what it was meant to be, with additional patches and updates being a high priority.
