Call of Duty is starting to take some cues from Destiny. Kind of.
Sledgehammer Games, developer of the latest Call of Duty entry Advanced Warfare, has added Daily Supply Drop Challenges to the game with their latest update. A full new customization set, KVA Recon, will only be accessible via this new system, accessible through the Multiplayer menu.
Daily Challenges will likely include set numbers of kills with specific weapons, time spent in a specific game mode, or using perks for a set time.
While the comparisons to Destiny, also released this year, are hard to shake, the Call of Duty series has utilized a similar system in CoD: Black Ops with the Contract system. While the currency and gambling components are no longer present, Sledgehammer can hardly be considered stealing the idea from Bungie’s game.
In addition to the Supply Drop Challenges, the new update has also increased the time frame for Multikills, organized character gear in the menus and removed the Skull that appears on the HUD when the System Hack Scorestreak is enabled, among other minor system fixes.
