Borderlands Remastered Bundle Announced

Get ready for a remastering you might just want to get.

Yesterday, 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced what may be the best port to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has been announced. Set to launch on March 24th in North America, this collection will include the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which was released three months after the launch of the current generation of consoles, but only for the previous generations.

More than just a simple port, which seems to be a growing trend with Grand Theft Auto V, the Tomb Raider remake and The Last of Us, this version will also include enhanced split-screen, allowing four players to play on the same console, among other features of such ports, such as full DLC collections and updated graphics. There will also be the ability to transfer over save files from previous playthroughs, which will be a welcome feature for veterans of the games.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will come in standard edition and the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition, limited to 5,000 units and including the game, a steel case, lithographs and a remote controlled Claptrap.

What do you think of this trend of ports we’re seeing with the current generation of gaming consoles? Is it a cash-in, or adding enough value to a console lacking reverse compatibility? Let us know in the comments below!
