Video Game News, Reviews and Reflection! New Articles Released Randomly Every Week!
Uwe Boll, notorious director of video game film adaptations such as Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead and Bloodrayne released a new video on his Youtube account, blaming everyone for his recent lack of success with crowdfunding. This comes during the last day of his current attempt to fund Rampage 3: No Mercy, a project about a fictional serial killer. The video is an uncensored tirade of cursing and dissatisfaction, mostly directed at his backers who have raised “only” twenty-seven thousand dollars of a $50,000 Kickstarter project.
Boll, whose highest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes, Assault on Wall Street scored a 25% rating has a history of controversial moves in his career. Aside from garnering a reputation for ruining video game movies, he tends to be confrontational towards his critics, which once culminated with a boxing match, dubbed “Raging Boll” featured the director, an amateur boxer, actually fighting the critics who answered the call. His criticism of other directors such as Michael Bay and Eli Roth are also well documented.
Boll’s last two attempts at crowdfunding, a $500,000 Kickstarter for Postal 2 and a $100,000 Indiegogo posting for his current Rampage project both ended without successfully funding.
