Video Game News, Reviews and Reflection! New Articles Released Randomly Every Week!
When Suzuki Yu announced Shenmue 3, he added a startling fact: the game would be funded, at least in part, by a Kickstarter project. Tonight, June 26, 2015, he will be discussing the stretch goals – bonus materials/promises/additions to the project when it goes over its funding total – tonight in a special Twitch broadcast.
In focus tonight will be the three new areas to be introduced to the game, which YS Net hopes will expand the game into a “true open-world environment.” Particularly, the developer is hoping to make each of these environments full developed, wasting as little space as possible.
Stretch goal are pretty important now considering the project is officially over its goal. Originally set at $2 Million, the game crossed the first million in a few hours and the full two a few hours after. We’re looking forward to any new updates we’ll be seeing tonight!
Shenmue 3 is the sequel to 2001 Shenmue 2, which appeared on the Sega Dreamcast and was ported to Xbox in 2002. The live stream of Shenmue 3’s update will be on Twitch at 10PM Eastern Time (7PM Pacific).
